true artists are not born with the gifts of creation; rather, no art or skill is born with anyone. a true artist is someone who, through repeated sensations, has ideas fixed in their memories. then, they begin to give to things in the use of language.
theres no language to answer all the abundance of ideas that enter into the worlds discourses and reasonings, but i fail to see why. the piano, the notes and frequencies have shown me more ideas—more words than spoken language ever has.
im not very good at the piano. and im not very good at explaining things to people. i feel as if i contradict myself. why might the piano explain more ideas to me than any other ordinary person?
artists—no, any human is born without innate skill, without language. it is the culmination of our experiences that allow us to express language in words, or words from frequencies on a piano. take for example a gifted piano player, who might compose a piece thats is melancholic, a piece that reflects the pianists current emotion.
it is the culmination of their askesis in which they can craft chords and harmonies that reflect their sadness.
an observer can then understand from their ears, how the pianist feels.
but what if, the observer cannot understand the chords, cannot understand the language?
the audible ideas of everything would be so different.. i would be so different to you...
